WASHINGTON, D.C. The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, in cooperation with the firm named below, today announced a voluntary recall of the following consumer product. Consumers should stop using recalled products immediately unless otherwise instructed.


Name of Product: Honda 2004-2005 FourTrax All-Terrain Vehicles (ATVs)

Units: About 200,000

Manufacturer: American Honda Motor Co. Inc., of Torrance, Calif.

Hazard: The steering rods can separate, causing the driver to lose steering control. This could cause the ATV to crash and pose a risk of serious injury or death.

Incidents/Injuries: Honda has received 27 reports of steering rod separation. No injuries have been reported.

Description: The recall includes 2004-2005 FourTrax Honda ATVs. The ATVs are red, olive, yellow or blue and have Honda written on the fuel tank.

I didn't know Honda was a joke..I work for them in the automotive division and the 2 vehicles we make are were number 1 in each of their classes in sales for the last 2 months, not to mention Honda also had the motortrend car and truck of the year this year. As far as their 4strokes, they're simply supplying a demand...doing pretty damn good in atv racing too...not to mention winning the baja 1000 every year since the TRX450R was introduced. I own 2 and 4strokes so I have an unbiased opinion as far as atv's considering that I also own a Yamaha (which I like alot also). Take a look at the NADA values compared to domestic cars in the same classes...Honda's pretty damn good when it comes to resale. JMO

Let me guess, you're some kind of mx pro...
Damn guy, you're kind of reaching on this one...how does a recall notice and my factual comments about honda's cars and quads turn into, "honda sucks because of the riders they buy". All I'm stating are the facts, not opinions. Don't ride a Honda, I'm sure someone else will. Oh yeah, did I mention Joe Byrd just won the GNC mx title on Honda? I forgot that one.
