Exclamation Help on 1984 Cr250R

Alright, well today i was out riding, going about 45 when i felt my backend swaying it felt like a wobble and felt like my rear tire was about to fall off and i was about to die. hah. well i got home took off my rear tire fixed my chain tension and tightened my rear tire assembly all up. and what was still wrong? it still shook. along with my swingarm. i am new to this bike. so i dont know what fixes what yet. lol. im a noob. and i need some advice where exactly i would find the series of bolts that will tighten up my swingarm cause right now is it 16 degrees out and it is very unpleasant to just sit and look at everything.. and also how would i stiffin up my rear shock?
Thanks for reading and thanks to all who can help.

haha, thats shittie, i know how it feels... well when it warms up a bit i would personally jack that son of a bitch up in there air and get the back tire spinning, you might be able to see it wobble... When you tightened up your chain tensioners did you make sure they were even on both sides, you dont want that wheel to be cocked to one side....

i didnt make sure it was equally torqued. the chain on this bike is stretched out way bad i gaurantee it, cause the tension adjusters were all the way out and the tire bolt was as far back as it would go and the chain was tight. over tightened in fact. so i just gave it a little slack on each bolt, if it is uneven only by a little bit, do ya think that will be much of a problem? im thinkin only a little extra ware on one side of the tire will be the only factor to it. and i did jack the s.o.b. up the rear tire was off the ground and i started it up a few times and put it into gear. OH! and that reminds me, now the clutch doesnt want to engage fully. i have adjusted the brake thingy and the cable tensioner and took off the cap for where the little lever goes up and down. it works just fine, like its supposed too. but ill pull my cluctch lever and put it into gear and it will jump and when im rolling up to a stop sign and i pull my lever and rev my engine i can feel it push the bike a bit not much but i feel it enough to tell its there. any suggestions? i havent tried changing the oil yet. i asked the dude i bought it from and he sad he runs 20w 50 in it. would it be bad if i changed the oil and ran some castrol gtxsae10w30 motor oil in it?

wobble- nah, its pretty tuff to get the axle adjustment exactly trued to that its 100% straight, shouldnt really cause a wobble if its a lil off.. could be something loose, once again jack it up and just look for loose stuff like wheel bearings and bushing, stuff like that

clutch- are you saying that it wont fully dis engage as in the engine is still pushing it when the clutch lever is all the way in.... youve tried adjusting your adjustments on the lever and on the engine where the cable goes in. If not that theres a few other things to look at internally, like springs, rods and lubrication in there... maybe just an oil change can fix it since its a wet clutch and your oil is exposed to that... as far as oil goes, ya i would probably use that 10/30, but id use just about anything for engine oil, its got to be better than old oil

yeah for sure, and im saying it wont fully engage, when i pull my lever all the way to the grip, and i put it into first the back tire jumps thre first time it did that i was bamboozled i didnt know what to do about it. so i put the backtire on some ice started the basterd up and the back tire jumped and was sliding around on the ice. i figured its better to do it on ice instead of the street and risk wrecking/breaking my neck. good idea? you tell me. hah. but i figured it was cause the junk was all cold, cause again if it isnt obvious by now i live in a cold winter climate. it warmed up and it was engagiing better than not engaging at all. tomorrow ill throw it on my jack again and kick it up put it into gear and watch what wiggles around. as for the clutch. i'm going to change the oil whenever i can move it to my brothers garage.. who know when that will be. im just wondering if it would be a bad move to throw in 10w 30 where 20w 50 was being used. and about my clutch again, i took off the cap and watched the little mechanism move up and down fully as i pulled the lever. the little mechanism went to a crank lookin deal that went into another compartment in the casing, which i dont want to open cause i do know the clutch is submerged and i dont want to get into that mess unless i have too and i dont want a bunch of springs shooting off and me being screwed with the job of stretching them back where they went when i dont know where they go in the first place.

Allright icic, now your saying the clutch gets better as it warms up... it is common for a clutch to stick after its been sitting for a while, its like a skin-friction that needs to be broken before it can work properly after all the oil settles ... Ex) if i jump on my banshee and kick it into gear with my clutch lever all the way in after its been sitting a week, it will just launch forward and stall out... So what i do is hold my clutch in and give it a few revs as i kick it into gear, this puts more torsion on the clutch to break that initial skin friction and its good to go...
I would recomend you change your oil to whatever is recommended for your climate, its really not going to matter if you switch oil weights. See if that helps, from there you can look into opening up your clutch, its actualy not as bad as it looks, nothings comes flying out, its really straight forward. . Only thing is that you need to reset a gasket so the oil doesnt leak out
