More signs of two-stoke comeback

I was flipping through the channels today and came across an infomercial promoting the E-tec Evinrude two-stroke outboard motor for boats. It's manufactured by Bombardier and everything they were promoting is how it blows a four-poke away in everything - weight, power, fuel efficiency and even pollution.

So it's a good sign that they could make a comeback and maybe Bombardier will come up with a great two-stoke quad with that engine design.

Yeah two-strokes - the best part was how one guy told it how it is - everybody is jumping on the four-stroke bandwagon, especially with quads and now dirt bikes but they don't realize how much more power and efficiency, and reliability they give up with a four-stroke.

If they only knew.

BRP (bombardier recreational products) is focusing their money on snowmobiles and OMC (outboard marine company) in 2-strokes. I dont think they will be making a 2-stroke sport quad any time soon but i could be wrong. If they did it would meet the 2006 regulations which would be pretty sweet.

they made the DS650 so don;t expect much even if they did have a quad in the works..

how hard would it really be for them to make a 2 stroke engine to power their DS650?? Sure it would be like driving a car, but if they put a comparable engine to the 650cc they got in it now it would surely be 10X better

Even if they put one of their 500LC motors or the 600HO or even the 1000cc twin in that frame it would be a really sweet quad. I dont really mind that frame its just really tall. The thing seems to have bottomless suspension stock.
