A local track i ride at in a guys back yard has been here since the early 1970's. Now the new neighbors who just built houses have got the D. O. T. and the Michigan State Troopers telling him he can't let people ride on his track due to "Dust" and "Land Errosion". He's got a good attorney though so i will be able to ride there in a few more weeks....with any luck.

It's sad when you can't even have the freedom to do what you want on your own personal property.

It will be hard for them to not allow the guy to have the track open as long as he is not making money or charging for the use.

Well anyway I put the offer on the house. The neighbors are pretty far away proably over 200 feet on direction and don't even see the other neighbors. the property goes in a diamond shape the one point starting at the road. So there is very little road frontage which screws me for subdividing but I don't care to anyway.

So now it is wait and see game

I am an ATVA member.

Last fall my friends and I attended a fact gathering conference for the Governor to prevent overzealous legislation from occurring here in Vermont like the laws you posted in your area. It was an interesting meeting; dozens of people from both sides of the issue (ATV owners, shop owners, outdoor enthusiasts and environmental "advocates") came together and shared thoughts and concerns. I guess several of these meetings occured across the state, and records of them were sent to the governor and legislators to draft proposals for protecting riding rights and protecting the land. It was cool... and hopefully one step closer to avoiding BS like that stuff you're dealing with.

I am not sure about a track but there will definatly be some trail building going on.

I am a member of a bunch of local organizations and once I get settled into a house I will become more active.
