| From another board, if this goes through the stroke will not die, CCALL THE AMA AND LET THEM KNOW YOU WANT THIS RULE TO PASS, 1-800-AMA-JOIN There is a new ruling that is being introduced to the AMA at this fall's congress that will even up the playing field. I hope it passes. 125 class = 125cc engines (2 or 4 stroke) 250 class = 250cc engines (2 or 4 stroke) open class = 267cc and above engines ( 2 or 4 stroke) This is being introduced by the same people who got the 144 cc rule passsed. This is the text of a post by one of them from another board: Quote: 125cc (2 or 4 stroke) 250cc (2 or 4 stroke) Open (267cc or more 2 or 4 stroke) Start teeling everyone you know to let their AMA Delegates know that they want these classes for the amateur classes. KTM, Yamaha and Suzuki all said they would most likely offer a kit for their motorcycles. The Kawasaki person I talked to said thatb they may bring the 1-2-5 back if it goes well this year. There are several reasons for the rule, nut one of the main was to get more 2-strokes back on the track to bring the sound level down. The days for handicaping the 4-strokes are over, as a good friend of mine says. Let's even the rules out, get more 2-strokes racing again, help bring the sound level down and keep racing costs down. I can tell you that I have heard of several people getting out of it because of the high costs involved with a 4-stroke small displacement motorcycle. The AMA knows the problems with the rules as they pertain to four-strokes, and they know that people are actually leaving the sport because of them. If you want the Two-Stroke to survive and you want to have a choice what type of machine you buy, let your AMA delegates know that you support this rule. Oh, and just so you know, this rule change was brought up this past fall (same time as the 144 rule was brought up) and it missed passing by ONE VOTE. Yes. One vote. This is very real, and has a VERY good chance of passing this fall.

| Is there some kind of name for this proposed rule so we don't have to sound like an idiot? "uhhh... I support that proposed rule that puts similar displacement 2 and 4 strokes in the same class."????? I'm a paying AMA/ATVA "competetion member"... I'd like to support the idea... but I don't want to call up and not have my ducks in a row.

| I'd definitely like a link or some kind of proof that this rule is actually being considered. I don't buy it and I won't believe it until I see proof. We all know that right now 4 strokes don't hold a candle to 2 strokes cc for cc in the ATV and dirt bike world.
