I know alot about engines in general and most of what I learned came from manuals. Get a manual. It's an investment and alot of times faster and easier then asking opinions on a forum. Don't be offended. If you get stuck somewhere by all means ask here

Your gonna want to spilt the cases and clean everything + replace all the bearings. It would be a good time to do the seals as well. While your doin that you might as well get a re-bore a with new piston and rings.
