this is straight out of the march 2008 ATVSPORT magazine... page 28.. column 1 paragraph 5 through column 2 paragraph 1....

Now, possibly the most important chassis spec of all, overall weight. Here, we got a real shocker. Last spring Can-Am introduced it's DS 450, built to be the lightest in class. With an all aluminum frame, A arms and swingarm, plus several revolutionary designs, it was the lightest 450 --- until the KTM came along.
With a lightweight internal dry sump engine, lightweight shocks, chromoly chassis components and minimal use of fasteners, it comes in at 367 pounds (ready to ride and with a gallon of gas) which is 3 pounds lighter that the Can-am, as measured on our Intercomp scales. The next closest contender is the yamaha, at 377. The wide suzuki, at 413 pounds, is the heaviest in class"
