The reason for putting a CR cylinder on a TRX bottom end is because the CR cylinder has a better port layout. And yes, some years are a direct bolt on for the TRX bottom end, but which ones I can't remember. The PV on the CR is a mechanical operating PV and will not work on the TRX bottom end without serious modifications. I read a post somewhere of someone getting one to actually work on an ATC, but he had spent A LOT of time and money to make it work.

IMO, you are much better off buying a Pro-X cylinder and having a reputable builder port it. It will definitely be the biggest bang for your buck. Switching over to a CR cylinder is not worth the hassle because you're really not going to gain much from it. If you were to remove a stock unported TRX cylinder and slap a stock unported CR cylinder on you're probably going to make more power, yes, but is it worth it?? No. Especially when you can get used Pro-X cylinders these days for a decent price.
