Default My Intro

Hi, I joined this forum to get some more ideas on squeezing some hp out of my '76Suzuki GT250. My wife mainly drives it now but I still want to tinker with it (she needs power too!). So far I've done some porting, geared down and had 0.02" shaved off the head, results on that to come. Next I'm thinking of playing with port timing and raising the exhaust port up 1-2mm and also make it 1-2mm wider. It has the stock carbs which (I think) are 26mm with k&ns. For the next big thing I would really like to build some pipes for it with expansion chambers. Currently I'm looking for info on design theories/guidelines for designing expansion chambers. I'm a mechanical engineer by trade so the design part I should be good and I've done lots of fabrication, I just need to do some research on what I need based on engine variables (rpm, port timing, port size, etc.). I'm gonna start by doing some searching around this site and see where that gets me. I'm interested in learning about everyone else's projects too.

Mike
