zilla500r bad seller (resolved) well I bought a hot rods stock stroke crank from him and it was supposed to be like new, according to his add. well before i sent him the paypal payment he did tell me that the threads got a little bitched up when he tried to remove the flywheel. So I asked him what do you mean bitched up? Do you mean like knicked up a little bit or what. He replied that it was knicked a little bit. So he said if I bought it he would take care of it so it's no big deal the crank is still fine. Ok i said so i paid him. Well when i got it in the mail I didn't open it right away cause of crazy work hours and such. This past weekend I did open it and noticed the threads were not repaired and the end of the crank was dark blue from heat..
I chased the threads to clean them up and it did clean up ok. But as i started to check everything else out I noticed its missing orings, the side clearance on the rods are out of spec. wisco hotrods specs these at no more than .028 clearance.
I measure .0305 on one and .033 on the other rod. well thats just great. I also notice how dirty and how much build up is on this 8 hr crank. So I compaired it to my brothers other crank that has over 120hrs on it, but it has a spun rod bearing so its a paper wieght, but its alot cleaner and the side clearance is at .0265 on the good rod. Then I noticed that the end of the crank isn't blue on my brothers parts crank, but the one I was sent is. The main bearing where the flywheel goes also has a notch to it when you spin it because of all the excessive heat applied to the crank. Well any tempering done to this crank has now been comprimised. He also said that there is nothing wrong with the crank. So when I asked zilla for a refund because this is clearly not a like new crank, he said he doesn't do refunds and sells his items "as is" .. I filed a paypal claim and he responded with I'll pay for the new orings but that is it. Who exactly is gonna install them? He acknowleges that the crank is in need of repair but doesn't understand he advertised the crank to be in like new condition. You be the judge, pics below..
I offered to take half my money back and keep the crank for the rods that seem to be ok. I guess thats out of the question too.
