Your bike is a 489cc, 89mm bore and 79 mm stroke

An 86 also has 89mmx79mm, but an 86 is 491cc

You have the best CR500 motor there is!!!!!


1984 is also a 489cc with the same bore/stroke specs.

The connecting rod length however is different from 85/86 to 87. The cases changed in 87 as did the rod length, it moved to a longer rod. You have a later CR500 rod, you need the correct rod.

Somebody makes a connecting rod for that bike aftermarket, I forget who, its very hard to find. Maybe Vesrah?? I know hotrods, or wiseco neither of them make one. Only 87-01. But you can find one for the older 500s, but the rod is over $200 if my mind suits me correctly.
