The 250r winning in 04 does not mean a whole lot. Four stroke mx is completely different than two stroke mx. It will take time after you switch to be able to ride to your full potential. With that said, I think the 250R is a very capable quad. I'm not sure how well it could compete at 250cc, but as long as it is close the rider will make the difference. Gust could probably beat a lot of people on a stock blaster.
I agree the ltr has a nice feel to it, I think a lot of that is due to how smooth the power is. What I am confused on is how are you going to drop weight on an ltr? You will be adding nerf bars and various other mx components. The tires are already 18s and 20s, so you won't lose any weight there. What extra weight can you drop?
