One thing the ESR cage has going for it that the v-froce doesn't is flat surfaces. Each company has it's flaws in new cages from the manufacturing process that need to be corrected. I have two new v-force cages on my bench now with a 2 and a 3 both having light shining under the reeds. The 3 is very bad. The ESR cage has some sharp edges and flat spots that should be radiused but the reed surfaces are flat. I'm planning to dyno the cages side by side before and after correction and see if I can draw some quantitative conclusion. Matching a boot can be a challenge with each cage too. I've already had to report the cage ESR sent me for their cage...
