Leaking Base Gasket.

After riding all day and night Saturday and Sunday on the lake and river notice my base gasket leaking. Ordered a gasket set and hopefully I can get it all back together by the weekend to go riding. Best thing is that next week I have off of work for almost two weeks for the holidays. Lots of riding time.

You running studs on knobbies or run snow tires?

I am running The Chen Shin Ice Tire. That's what we called it here anyway. They discontinued it is what I am told. Are buddy that runs a small engine shop just bought the last 10 sets from Parts Unlimited. So I bought an extra set. I can get about two or three years out of a set. I am running 7/8'' studs in the rear and in the front I am running 1/2".

my trx250r s base/jug gasket started leaking a month or so ago so i put on a new gasket kit and it hasnt leaked since i dont know what causes it

I had a 250R trike when I was in high school living back in Indiana and I know what it's like to ride in the snow. My trike had the rawhide half assed paddle tires but they worked. I think I blew that motor like 5 times as I was too impatient and lazy to split the cases and change the crank. The wobble in the crank kept blowing the exhaust skirt off the piston. But hell I wanted to ride. Post some vids if you can throwing some powder.

how long did a topend last if the crank bearing was bad

It blew either the first day or the second but not usually very long.
