Default 200x conversion

Hey I'm going to be getting a 1985 honda 200x soon and I want to pull out the motor and put in a 2 stroke 80 or 125 and was woundering what motor would be best I ride in the woods and i've rode a few trikes before but never a 2 stroke thats why I want to start small thanks any info will be appreciated

i think a cr125 motor would be sick, i also wanted to do that. i think ive seen one some putting an aircooled motor in one not sure if it wason here tho...

I was thinking about a YZ or RM 125 because it would be diferent because I've seen a few with cr motors but not yz or rm's

If you are not against cross-breeding... a KDX 200 or 220would be a good choice for the woods... and you could keep the headlight...

you would be better off just keeping the 200x motor... get a good pipe and cam, and you'll be moving just as fast... i have a 200x and i love it... they run for ever and never run out of bottom end... just get the cam and pipe and regear if you want more top end

Got a '86 TRX 250r... 38mm air striker carb, G3 reed cage and reed spacer, fmf pipe for now (it was free)....

84 200x it's a tank, rhino lined fenders, make it bullet proof

84 xr80 it was to cheap to pass up, and it's good to the take the crapper on cold mornings at the dunes, when you don't wanna wait for the shee to warm up

In the works...


89 paul turner pipes and 30mm carbs... needs a new set of pistons and cylinders...

yea 200x's can be pretty quick & fun, but a 125 would be cool

I started to build an atc125r using a 1979 cr125 motor and an 85 200x but it got put off due to drag racing projects one of these days I'll finish it up. Heres a pic.
