Default Advice on triming fenders?

Can anybody give me some advice and some Ideas for trimming the plastic fenders on my trike? I don't want to take the back fenders off all together but I want it to have that sleek appearance and stance of a good racer.

Also wonder if there is any kind of forks I can buy that will make the front end sit up a little higher. My trike is an 85 Tecate and I've seen many of these on the net that have that taller more racy look to them. Mine is stock and kinda sits a little low in my opinion. Any advice on what tools to use to trim the fenders and get it to sit with that more aggressive stance would be greatly appreciated. I think the 86 Tecate has a great aggressive stance. I'm hoping to get a similar look for mine.

Use a dryerase marker...draw out what you want to cut.
the dry erase is great because it will wash off if you dont
like the direction that you are going. also, use a dremmel
to do the cut...it makes for a smooth and accurate cut!

Since I just got the trike and am still learning what has been done (or not done) to it, I noticed the rear axle might possibly be extended. When I see pics of stock T3's the rear tires seem to be about half or more covered by the fenders. Mine has the tires only about a quarter covered by the stock rear fenders. Any way for me to measure or to check if the axle is an extended after market one?

If you have one, but I doubt it, you can use an adbresive water jet. Able to make clean smooth cuts.

You should try to make a templete on the cut you want before you cut your fenders. That way they should line up very close on each side.
That is the only reason I have never cut my finders, I was afraid they would look uneven.

That is a good idea to make a template. I'm sure a lot of first timers have tried it not thinking about a template and regreted it.

thats where the dry erase marker comes in handy
trace out what you wanna cut. that way if you
dont like what your doing, you can just wipe it off.
