Electric cars are capable of going over 200miles on a charge, see the Tesla Roadster. Aslo they are great for city use. Many European countries already use electric cars for public transit.
Also about nuclear, it is safe to use now. People are just afraid because of what happen in the past.
The problem with the US's oil is most of it isn't in crude oil form, it is in the form of oil shale. And the process of mining oil shale and refining it into oil is a very dirty process and costly. |
