They should put a decompresser with a lever on them. The trick to starting my dads old honda xl600r that has since been passed on was to decompress it 7 times, decompress it and choke (at the same time) 3 times, then choke it and kick it with all your weight and muscle and it would start or kick back and damn near throw you over the handlebars. The XR 650 isnt like that tho

but it also dosent have the speed like the old 600. Im workin on gettin it back from the guy my dad sold it to. All it has is a + and - 2 tooth sprocket on the back and front and it goes almost 115 mph. It would burn cr 250s and all the banshees i raced off the line with no problem. The one thing that beat it off the line was a 99 CR500R but it took it after about 3rd gear. The only problem with that bike was that it was heavier than a bulldozer and it didnt have great suspension.
