Polaris Cyclone I have one that I am working on to. It runs great, but I broke the front clutch. To be exact Polaris only made 416 of these in 1987 to compete with the 250r. They came with a bigger carb and intake, ported from the factory, and a bigger expansion chamber exhaust than the other Polaris 250's. When you take the inside clutch cover off you will see the engine number, it should have an 02 behind it, that denotes that it is a cyclone engine. As far as your tranny goes, your shifter linkage is worn, you might have to make a new idention on the tranny to hold the shifter in place. Or you can go on fleabay and find a used tranny from an 85-87 250 trailboss or 87 cyclone. The engines from these bikes are well sought after for cart racing. There is a Cyclone web site, I will have to find it and get back to you. |
