People are mostly worried that the electronics involved in the FI will fail due to the "abuse the quad will subject it to!"
I can tell you that there's a lot of FI vehicles out there that go through a lot more abuse than a race quad and they hold up more than fine.
I think FI on a two stroke is kinda weird though... I'll agree with its detractors on that front.
You're taking a lot of the pipe's influence on performance out of the mix... I don't like that idea much... and it also takes away part of the fun of 2-strokes... IDIOTS LIKE ME WORKING ON THEM!!!!
I can jet a carb, I can rebulid a top end, I can have my mechanic buddy crack the cases and make sure I don't fuck anything up inside!! But I can't tune an ecu to change the fuel map, and I KNOW that opening the top of a 4-stroke scares me silly.
