K&N vs. Foam (Uni, etc.)

I prefer the UNI Foam, but last year I ran it for two day trips at silver lkae & 1 day trip to Bull Gap. When I pulled the engine apart a few months ago to do the overhaul, I noticed that some sand/dirt had gotten into the cylinder & scraped the walls/piston.....nothing major. Enough to bother me to do another top end. For now on I will be using a Prefilter with the UNI.

I do believe the Uni Foam will stop everything because of it's design, it's airways are redirected in different directions & there's always foam to grab those dust particles. The K&N is thinner.. holes are bigger, suck more air & yes you can see thru it in the light, however... Throw on that outerwear & oil that filter properly and that it WILL stop all dust particles from going into the cylinder.

K&N and an outerwear is all you need just don't be lazy and clean and oil it after every ride you take.
