Yeah, I get a little long-winded at times... Here's another one. LOL!

Desert Racer:
No doubt on the making money instead of spending money!
I have so much money into my quads, well... we just won't go there!

As for 370 banshee's comment:
Yeah, no doubt HONDA knows how to build quads. They always have. I still own a 1987 250R also, and I love it.
Dare I say, more than my Banshee?
OW! Ok, I know, but it's just the truth... I don't plan on selling my "R" anytime soon either!
I could probably modify the front suspension on the Banshee to mimick the 250R's, but then I might better just put a 350 twin in an "R", rather than go through all the frame changes on the "she".

It's really too bad. Honda was a pioneer in this sport with some awesome ATC's and quickly "perfected" the TRX sport quads in a really short time. After Suzuki's inception of their quadracers, which were arguably 2nd or 3rd best, at best.
I'd say Yamaha got 'em all with the Banshee, but never having a 250cc quad hurt them quite a bit in overall sales. I think that's because they decided there was too much competition to try to beat, so they just went nuts and built the twin 350, and threw it in the mix. Unfortunately, it wasn't always allowed to race along side the 250R's in many races, due to such large difference in displacement. Ironically, the stock 250R's were much faster than the stock Banshee's, except for the very, very top end.

The 250R's design became the benchmark for basically every sport bike built today, as well as the platform for nearly every top-notch racing quad. WHY? Because they were (and still are) the best!

I'm glad Yamaha had the guts to stick it out and keep building the Banshees for as long as they have. What's scary is that it appears the monstrosity 4-strokes have all but taken over the ATV marketplace.
Who knows how long our Banshee's and Blaster's are going to be able to keep competing with those hulky, road-bike powered quad's retail sales! Rats!

I wish they'd build a 2-stroke Raptor or the like.

Wait... I know! How about a Banshee with a 800cc Vmax-4 snowmobile 2-stroker in it? Now that would be SWEET! (And kinda sick too!) Having a manual transmission may be a bit of an issue though.

Yamaha just needs to design us a big bore 2-stroker. I don't care how many cylinders it has. The more, the merrier - right?!
Heck, I'd actually be happy with a 500cc or 600cc single! The Banshzilla! (Ok, I know, that's gay...)

I dunno. I guess I got off on a tanget. My Bad. Shhh... it happens. :-)

this is a little late of a response but i finally did it, i got rid of almost all the bump steer. I took the bracket that the tierod end slips into and reveresed the left and right side and flipped them upside down. After that I attached teh tie rod from the bottom instead of the top and whala, no more bump steer. This might not work for everyone, but I would suggest first flipping the tierod end from the top to the bottom and if that doesn't work, replace the left side bracket with the right side. Good luck
