simple question about long travel

I am trying to figure this out . Is a 2+1 a-arm considered long travel ?
Or does long travel mean the shocks that are needed are going to be longer? Then I would be able to get a 2+1 a-arm that is not long-a-arm?

+2 +1 is not considered a long travel setup unless the shock mount is lower. In a long travel setup the shock mount is lower and requires a longer shock. If there just standard +2 +1 arms then you dont need a longer shock, but most revalve the shock to handle the extra stress from having the quad sit wider.
