Pantera 800 cuts out on the go

This is my first two up. Last year I was riding and it began cutting out after about a half hour of riding. Then it would go away and I could ride the rest of the day. My suspicion is its an lectrical problem. I couldn't locate the problem.

This year it is cutting out intermitantly throughout the ride.

When I say it cuts out it is like quickly turning the key to off and back on quickly during the ride.

I have gone over the service manual.
I am still at a loss.

I did notice the the gas guage is not reading right, it some times won't read at all, sometimes it is reading like the speedomiter or sometimes it is full. Could this be a factor?

Any thoughts or suggestions?

check all connections and grounds, i have a cougar 500 last year it had a interminant miss, ended up on both cylinders, the plug wires were bad, removed the boots and the cable was green, went to the local atv shop and got some new wire, good as new. just an idea

def sounds like electrical, u have good fuel flow right? just a thought, good luck, maybe consult a mechanic'
