id hate to see arctic cat follow yamaha with the r1 powered snowmobile...its a waste of sled....the rx1's cant keep up to anything over 600cc's
"2 STROKE" i was at the local drags this winter, and i was grinning like a horse eating thistles when i saw this big "cocky" yamaha rx1 owner challenging me on my f7 firecat...he was so confident he would smoke me he even started taunting me!!!so we were off...he got off first...but then i caught up to him extremly fast...we were about half way down the track when i hit it wide open, needless to say i had about 6 sled legnths on him at the end of the track...but i didnt celebrate cuz im not that kind of guy...
when i got back they told me i hit 123 mph i think he hit 97... arctic cat power????or suzuki???lol

well that just goes to show you what a dumb ass he was, for racing a rx-1 at drags. not to mention (and i hate to say it) but the F7's are hard to beat in drags. and 370 don't feel bad i hate the thought of dishing out that kind of money for a sled to and i live 40mil. from Canada. they just don't hold there value for shit.

Who knows a good mechanic on the 800cc artic cat motors for jetting?
Now for the people doubting the motor and not thinking that it will put out 180 horse, I beleive it with everything i own, cuase right now ive got almost 200hp and ive got mild mods. Mild mods include carbs, Custom exhaust and thats it.
But anyway Im having trouble with the mikuni carbs and the jetting. Ive been working on this thing for about 3 years now and cant find anybody that can help me shed any light on this problem. Now off the line it either bogs or comes out of the whole really strong, now to fininsh it will crap out at the end or will run really well past the 60' mark. Now is there anyway to get it to come out of the whole strong and finish in the lead? If anyone can help i would greatly appreciate it im getting to the point to just sell it and start over with a four stroke. Dont really want to do that cause this motor has alot of potential. Thanks in advance.
Jason

Per your question it does not seem like it is a jetting issue. If off the line your motor is either strong or bogs it sounds like you are having a fuel issue. If it was just bogging everytime I would say you need to adjust your pilot. Besides that not sure I would make sure there are no way your fuel line is getting pinched.

As for the up top issues again you are saying it is sometimes strong sometimes not. If that is what you are saying I think you might have a fuel issue. Could be that your sucking so much gas your lines can't keep up. Do you have a dual feed petcock? I am not sure besides that.

As for the 200hp 800 that has pipes and carbs I am not sure how you come to that number. I find it really hard to believe that pipes and carb are going to give you over 50hp. The MachZ has the most HP for a stock sled and it has 155hp at track. Are you measuring it at the crank or at the track?

thank you for the info. now as far as the horsepower goes it is geared rather high its only for a quarter mile. so its probably at the flywheel a little less. it has turned numbers of 196.7 at the rear wheels on a dyno. Also the only thing left as a snowmobile is just the motor it is on a rail car now with tires. I only have one petcock. Now would you suggest going with a low pressure electric fuel pump?Cause i have gotten the car to run ounce and only one time good all the way down the track. Also to add into it all its as irregular as two strokes can sometimes be.

Heres a quick bio of the car and Jackie.

Damn that thing is sweet. I am not sure how well a low pressure fuel pump would do. Is that a triple? If so you might want to have a seperate feed for each carb.

Ok I guess if you gear really high you can meet any HP you want my guess is if you measure your HP at the crank you would be around 130hp.

Yes it is a triple. On fuel line it is a 3/8 line ran to 3 1/4 inch lines that go to there own vibration pump type or whatever comes on the snowmobiles fromt he factory. Ive always wondered if those were the problem. But the few times ive had it on the dyno it never ran out of fuel so i didnt think that was a factor but given its not moving it just might be. I dont know. Like i said ive tried just about everything with the jetting so im up for anything else that it could be.
If youd like ive got video of a 10.24 pass i can see if i can post it on here if youd like to see it. Its a clip off of speed channel.
If you think of anything else please, post up and let me know cause ive about had it. this car should easily be in the nines but just cant seem to break into that point. The whole car only weighs 492 with Jackie in it. Well thanks again.

I still want to try to get more horsepower out of my mxz with the 1210cc in it. I think right now its 212 hp.. bored over of course, milled head, clutched, lightened flywheel, flatslide carbs, billet rods, reeds, custom pipes, ported... yea thats about it for motor. otherwise it has just about too many studs on an agressor track (i think), ski doo dual carbide skis from the new sleds, all ryde fx shocks, in the front now too (just put them on getting ready for snow). I'm trying to get a ski-doo REVX 440 for a trail sled. I imagine that it would be a fun sled to ride on trails if you toyed around with it a little.
