Polishing Aluminum Process:

1. Remove any coating the part or parts may have on it (ie; Anodizing, Clear Coat Powder coat etc.)

I'd like to try some aluminum polishing, I was going to do my shifter and clutch cover on my shee along with my coolhead, but I know how much work it is to sand & buff the clearcoat on a car, as I just finished a 63 Nova, and it was fuckin too much work, so I'll just send the shit off and have it done. Informative article. I copied and pasted it just in case I do decide to try some polishing on little stuff.

You should give it a try, its way easier to do than wet sanding and wheeling a painted finish. You dont have to worry about burn throughs. When you buff a car heat is your enemy, when you buff metal, heat is your friend, it makes it easier to polish, and creates a higher lustor.
