All I know is for the most part conservatives are the ones standing up for my riding rights, liberals want to close everything,everywhere we ride. It is true we need both sides to have a democracy, but IMO you should support polititions who stand up for your own interests.

Nieghbors suck. I wish I could put a huge fence around my land so they couldnt keep check on what I'm doing. We have 7 acres. Every house is pretty far away but they still complain and stand out in the yard and stare at me and by brother when we rode. They threatened me harrassed me , knocked my mail box over when I stood it back up they just ripped it out of the ground ans stole it, when i replace it they smeared shit all over the inside of it. Hell one of them even shot my dog. The sheriff's deputies are f-ing lazy out here and said there is nothing they could do with out seeing who did it which is understandable but man I cant stand them. I cant wait to get my little 250r running. I had a 4-poke with a loud pipe and then I went to stock to make them happy, then I only rode at certain times and still got stared at but now I'm gonna ride early and late just to piss them the hell off. Its people like them that start all the trouble for us and its mainly because they dont have an ATV and they are pissed we are having so much phone while they are stuck inside watching Dateline.

The noise is a real problem. A track one mile from my house got shut-down this week. Its not just motocross tracks, the trails too, and its happening on private property.

Is that one horsepower you get with the loud exaust system worth it? It won't serve any use when you have no where to ride. Save your two-hundred bucks and get a riding school.

Pro cirtuit and FMF make quiet pipes. Please, do every single dirtbiker or quad rider a favor, and get a quiet pipe. At least a quiet core insert. Louder isn't faster. You can't win races when theres nowhere to ride.

We're killing our own sport. Its the manufactures, and people who buy loud pipes. We need to push for quiet pipes. The demise of our sport is in effect, and we need to take action. Please just take part in this.. I was stupid enough to buy a FMF Shorty. Last night I took it off, and replaced it with the stock silencer. Can't you spend the 25 bucks to buy a quiet core insert, and ride another day?

HOWELL TOWNSHIP --Township resident Pat Norwood will no longer be allowed to ride motocross motorcycles on his 6 acres on Fisher Road in the northeast corner of the township after the Township Board found him in violation of three township ordinances.

The board unanimously voted to ask the township attorney to seek an immediate injunction to stop operation of the dirt track.

During a show-cause hearing Monday, the board ruled motorcycle racing is not a permitted use in a residential area and operation of a track is a public nuisance. Neighbors began complaining to the township in spring 1995 about the noise, dust and traffic from dirt bikes racing on the property. During winter neighbors complained about snowmobile racing.

Norwood says he only built the track when he bought the property in 2003 for his two sons, then 4 and 6, to ride dirt bikes in a rural setting, and he allows a few friends to also ride with them.

"We ride only on our own property," he said. "I have two other kids and their dads who also come out to ride."

Mike Morrone, who also rides on the property, said the noise from his neighbor's lawn tractor is louder than the motorcycles.

"These motorcycles are about as loud as a horse walking by," he said. "You're telling me if I have a silent motorcycle I can't ride it."

Neighbors disagree, and they have supplied the township with videos of the activity and have retained an attorney.

"It's not just the noise; it's an eyesore and a nuisance," said Fisher Road resident Roman Michalowski. "I like to see the animals, and they have driven the critters away."

IMO nothing is louder than a piped 4 stroke. Ive had some loud 2 strokes... but the past 2 years have been hell on the trails with all of these piped four pokes.

Its amazing the mindset here. The mindset at dirtbike sites are completly diffrent. I'm actully starting to realize why dirtbikers hate quad riders. Just reading through this thread it seams as if the quad riders are more inconsiderate. Not really adding anything that would benifit anybody, or an attempt to solve it. Maybe a few "Fuck them" replies. Wake up. We are loosing riding areas over you. Quad riders are the worst thing thats happened to dirt bikers. We're getting riding areas shut down because of you.
