Default banshee vs. 250r race

heres a drag race between me and my brother we taped today. im on the red 250r and he's on the blue banshee. the track is about 350-400ft long I guess.

yea........I got lucky is all lol

but we did some more racing, didnt film it thought, and I tried starting a little differnt and I can hang with him now. in the videos I was starting in 2nd gear, and he was starting in 3rd. but later I tried launching in 3rd with it revved pretty high and letting it spin a little and start to set back on the seat and build up some good momentum before I popped 4th gear. I would hang with him pretty good.

it looks as though your on average only one bike behind hi m though ,which id say is pretty good for a stock jug ported 250r on gas ... is his bike modifed much ? i would think hed really come alive at around half track like most ported banshees do ?

well, his banshee has t5 pipes, cool head with 20cc domes I think, its one less than the stock cc size. adj. stator plate at +4 timing, hotrods's crank, bored at around 60 or 80 over, and a k&n filter with outerwears cover and no airbox lid. and thats pretty much it. he has around 14/40ish gearing, not sure exactly what the rear is, and 18in. rear tires. his problem is he is having issues with the clutch slipping. the motor runs damn good, its just the clutch cant put the power to the wheels. he starts in 3rd gear and it hooks up good and with the clutch slipping, it almost helps with making it take off good really good, but going through the higher gears is where it falls back some, the bike a screamin' but just not goin as fast as it should.

no, his banshee has stock cylinders, no porting or anything like that. is runs pretty mean though. what woke it up the most was when he switched to the toomey t5's.

yep we made that track. we usually keep it disked up with the tractor and disk to where its real thick loamy dirt, and let me tell ya, it sucks the power down a whole lot, we probably only get to 4th or 5th gear. but its been a while since we've even rode on it, aint had much time to ride.
