I was under the impression that the ban was placed january 1988. As there was a Few ATC models made in 1987 I believe.

2-strokes may become banned nation or world wide, but not in our lifetime I dont think. California wont even see that, although the sale of 2strokes will be done in I believe 2008-2010. But they will still be allowed to be ridden. Same as the deal with trikes havent been made for almost 20 years, but if you have one you can ride one. Grandfather clause.

I ve read it in the mags last year..........the article was on snowmobiles.I believe it was yamaha who came out with a 2-STROKE SLED WHO PASSED CALIFORNIAS EMMISSON TEST IN THE ARTICLE

yamaha and suzuki and kawasaki are still making 2 stroke bikes but not quads.

well sence someone dragged this old thread up.. If the US was to ban 2 strokes they would be losing out on alot of money. ALOT of money. Michigan would be pretty much shut down in the winter untill everyone got switch over to those slow four stroke sleds.... it will never happen.. no more chainsaws, weed wackers, leaf blowers, lawn mowers(push kind), out board boat motors. you get my point there go tourism in the states.. Canada here i come.
