Those motors are different...period.
Did the seller tell you about the siliconed holes and cracks? if not...get your money and motor back. The hole in the case is no big deal. MY 85 did the same thing from a chain break. I literally drained the cases, cleaned up the area with brake clean, folder over a thin piece of copper till it was 1/16 of an inch thick or so...then JBWelded it. Held for years, and still holding when I sold it...

Could probably do the same for the side cover...

The question here isn't if it's fixable, it's if it's the same motor...it's not....and that's BS...look at how much more oil is on the motor near the hole...

I stand corrected upon further inspection. At any rate I feel your pain. Silicon???? I would also be curious about the sellers intent sometimes mistakes can be made. Hopefully it was inadvertent.

yes they are not the same motor the clutch cover looks like it's from the motor with the "weld" and if you look close the stator wire has the 2 factory looms the motor sent does not along with the other stuff mentioned above being different and why the switched clutch cover ? I'd check the water pump and the clutch cover over good I'll bet they switched something there for a reason
clearly a bait and switch deal !!!!
good luck

They do look different, but even in the first pic you can see the same hole, though it looks like it has a welded patch in that one.
