you have the adapter plate installed wrong then... i have the billet adapter plate on mine and used to run it with the lid on.. if it sticks up to far you didnt follow the instructions or u did something wrong.. go back and check, u should be able to run a lid with it, and yea like morph said, ur gona need to rejet with all thaty extra air flow, try bumping ur mains up a couple sizes, if they are 220, put 240's in and try that

I put the plate in so the screws go in closer to the top. I looked on the internet on google. It shows the directions to put the adapter in. The bottom fits snug with the plastic. I also have 270 main jets in already. fmf fatty pipes with powercore 2.

It just pissed me off because I just bought h-d holeshot tires on t-9 pro series rims. The front are 22x7-10. rear 22x11-9. I just want to go ride but the stock air filter setup is so gay. I ran it with 40:1 synthetic premix and it ran perfect. The guy who did my motor said to run semi synthetic premix at 25:1, so I will not wear out my crank.

It does replace the stock lid and it has a precharger. It works great I have it on my kawasaki.

yep do that, take a picture, but yea the bottom slides down into the plastic grooves and holds itself in place, and the top you bolt it in with 2 bolts, it shouldnt be sticking up though, you should be able to put ur stock lid back on and secure it with no problem, same with ur k&N powerlid, should fit on no problem, weather you run the powerlid, or no lid, ur gona need to re-jet, bump up the main 1-2 sizes, those stock lids restrict the air flow so mnuch, when u open it up ur gona run lean

yes... maybe you dident slide the bottom in all the way... i had problems putting mine in, but had to force it in...
