| wants a MX banshee huh... first step... buy a outlaw chassis and start form there... they are the chassis with the 250R suspension and they use a banshee engine and plastic... stock framed shees are not MX bikes... they push badly in corners..

| well, mx and gncc are two very different types of racing. like for example, in mx its preferred to have your bike as wide as possible with wider a-arms/axle, etc............but for gncc its better to have a stock width bike to get through the tighter spots in the woods. i'd say it might be kind of impractical to setup a banshee as both a woods racer and a motocrosser.

| ok so now that the chassis issue is set up, how about engine wise? any decent ideas like i said before carbs, pipes, head, and port work and possibly big bore options, how would a stroker crank do anyone ever seen it on a track or is that something to only consider on the dunes?

| well for the motor a good trail/mx port would do you good along with a 2 into 1 carb, lowend pipes, cool head, +4 timing and some other little goodies and you'd have a killer mx/ trail bike.

| I think you would have more luck building it into a cross country/woods machine. I would really think about the geometry setup before you dig into the engine, If you dont want to do the frame (which is understandable because there so much money) I would spend some time & money into the suspention. Also you might want some better A-arms & think about a -1 swingarm.

| yep... -1, or -2 swinger, for mx. maybe stock length for gnnc... at least thats what i would do... like everyone else said.... cant set a banshee up do both things competitively. not with out, rebuilding it before each race..... kinda gota make a decision between one or the other..... unless he doesnt want to be competitive, like he is in it for the love of riding, and not winning? is that a possibility? |
