Default Pulled Wire Out Of Spark Plug Cap

Hi , been here awhile but this is my first post. I bought a beat up Banshee and finally got it running. I had to replace the pistons, cylinders and head. The cylinders are stock non ported bored to .06 and I got the Cool Head with #20 domes. The Pistons are WSM Forged 64.5mm. The crank is a Hot Rod crank with an extra 5mm of stroke. Stock carbs, K&N filter and Vforce-3 reeds. I'm not sure what the name of the expansion chamber I have but it's a 2 into 1 going into a FMF muffler. I'm still working on my first tank of gas but so far it seems to run great. I just ride the trails for fun and thats all that I want out of it although I do want to port it and put Keihin carbs on it for maximum fun.

The problem that I'm having right now is that I pulled the spark plug wire out of the spark plug cap and it looks like I need to replace the cap. Do I need to buy a specific cap to match the resistance or are they all the same?
I was also looking at replacing the spark plug wires and caps but it looks like they are part of the coil and I would have to replace the coil too, is that the way it is built?

Thanks for any info,
Chris

Many times the cap just has a screw inside it that bores into the plug wire. Try srcewing it back tight.
Welcome aboard- stay warm

That was it, thanks.
It doesn't seem like a very solid design but as long as it works I'll run with it.

No problem bro.
If you have some extra slack in the plug wire, cut it back a half inch or so to get a new clean & tight connection.

The best thing you could do is throw those stock plug caps away, order a new pair from NGK (any dealer or aftermarket store carries them) and say goodbye to stock plug cap woes....

Thanks , I'll be ordering some NGK caps soon.

shee is a Frankenstien and not sure I want to go public with her. I'll try and find a good side and snap a couple pics. Then I'll figure out how to post them.

thanks and later
Chirs

lol dude there's alot of frankenstien shee's and other bikes on here lol...its ok.

Welcome aboard and a suggestion, you were interested in a coil system, Nology makes an aftermarket coil system that seems to kick ass, flotek has it on his website i believe, along with rjatv. and there's a few other places online you could check. My local dealership surprisingly has it at their place, and its about the same price as everybody else (around $180). have fun and dont hesitate to ask

Cool , got one on order from RJatv.

One more question. I have exhaust leaks from the cylinders into the expansion pipe and from the the expansion pipe into the muffler pipe. Any way to seal it besides packing it with RTV?

Thanks for info on the Coil system Saul

Try getting a new O-Rong that fits into the opening of the expansion chamber,Thats the only way to get a nice clean seal. And for the other half...well you can by nice clamps that will do the job.
