A good time to bore

hey just wondering how can you tell and/ when you guys like to bore your bikes.

when i need a new top end.... when compression is low and the piston is like throwing a hot dog down a hallway....

lol thx for the visual dune buggy thats funny. so there shouldn't be any movement in your piston when its in the cylinder other the the up and down motion? if there is time to bore...

if your top end hasnt blown then u may just need a honing if there is light suface scratches on your bore then youll need a little cleaning up = a bore ..... and check your compression for thatll tell you if you need a new rebuild

check the piston to cylinder wall clearance,get the bore miced really well to check for an eggshaped cylinder.evry jug has specs to go by probably around .005.check it out .
