Default Carb problems

Hey everyone,

I'm having problems with my blaster. After about 5000 rpm in second gear, it bogs and won't go over that rpm. It works fine in first, but as soon as I shift it gets all boggy. Is it an air leak? Or fuel issue? What adjustments do I need to make?

Okay, here we go:
UNI Filter
185 Jet? I think
Boyesen SuperStocks
3/8" Reed spacer
FMF Powercore 2 Silencer
That's it for motor.
It had ran for a long time like that. And then the float needle began to stick, so I cleaned out the carb, and now it runs like crap after 1st gear. Air leak?

i've only had problems bogging when i was too rich. check your plug. usually if you had an air leak she'd be too lean and would over rev or not at all. start there and check your gaskets.

I tried to return your PM, project_BA.....

IT could be a number of problems.... but since your original problem was carb related... I'd go that route first.

Check your plug color... sounds too rich.

As was mentioned before... I doubt it's an air leak or jetted too lean... It would scream up top instead of bogging.

Okay. I'm not happy. I think I've been just adjusting the Idle-air mixture screw. First assesment. Rich as heck. So I keep turning the "Screw" in, and in, and in... Right way, right? Second pull after it didn't help at all, just made it idle lower and more consistent, still rich as heck. I'm turning IN the gold/bronze-ish straight-slotted screw on the left side of the middle of the carb. What am I doing wrong here?
