Default Need Help!!

Hi, I just got a blaster. I got it for $100. It needs work. Needs piston work, missing clutch cover, wiring, misc. nuts and bolts. Does anyone have a wiring diagram? Right now the wiring is a nightmare! Also, can anyone tell me what year it is? The VIN is 3Y42X5W05JC0008241. It has white fenders, blue gas tank, and blue seat. Thanks

its an 88. 10th digit of the VIN is the year....J=88, K=89, and so on....they left out some letters like I ans O to avoid confusion with 1 and 0, but thats the basic idea. First year they made the blaster, if I'm not mistaken...

Heh.. i just got done completely redoing my electrical harness. The wires are color coded.. so it shouldn't be too hard to figure out where stuff goes. You can click here to go to Yamaha's parts catalog and check the wiring harness on there... although, i doubt you'll need to.

Just be sure your grounds are on correctly... my problem was that they weren't grounded right and completely killed my spark for a good 3 months. =/
