Default Top-end knock

I have a knock/rattle in the top end of my Blaster; it still starts on the 1st or 2nd kick and it doesn't seem to have loss any power. Rings? Piston? or both? The top end only has about 30 hours (Vito's Big Bore).

run some higher octane and see if that takes the noise away, blasters tend to do that for some reason though

I already run 93 octane w/an additive and I have a Nology coil. It just started doing this recently, I've been running pretty hard on some really HOT days!

Hot days mean higher temps witch might be causing a little detonation problem of course 30 hours on a big bore is quite a few....I would at least check your plug for signs of detonation....

If you want it to stay cool then go fast. When I put around with my banshee is when it is the hottest because there's no air passing through the radiator. If I'm screaming in 6th I can watch temp guage creep down.

Here's are some crappy pics of where it's at, I need to get some more pics of it clean. I got it off of this site. It's pretty easy to read while you're riding and not easily damaged cuz of where it is. It's essentially a meat thermometer in a plastic tube that you insert into your radiator hose.

This one's out of focus but you can see where you look at it.
