if you know the gear ratio to your make ( maybe the owners manual tells it?? ) you can look it up on the Speed Claculator

14tooth is a great mod...it allows you to actuallty use 1st gear. I reccomend it for as cheap as a mod as it is....

By the way...how is that dynoport pipe?

yeah..14t is almost a first mod now...even with a stock pipe you can pull a 14t, i have a 14t and stock rear(which i believe is a 40...), i'm even thinking of goin to a 38 in the rear.

i agree, 14tooth is a great mod....the stock gearing it way to high

if you wanna figure out ratio's divide the amount of teeth on the rear gear by the front. 40/13 = 3.076 40/14 = 2.857

adding teeth on the front sprocket gives more top end, less give you more low end its the opposite for the rear sprocket.

has anyone else heard of this rule? "adding four teeth to the rear sprocket is like dropping one tooth on the front sprocket"

so would dropping 4 give one to the front in principle? cuz that would give clearance for the sprocket in the rear....i got a problem with bendin my skid into the sprocket

you cant go any smaller than a 38 on the rear...with the 38 youll have to grind a small bit off the hub...look at your rear sprocket and youll see where i'm talking about..the part that the bolts go through..ears or whatever...theyll have to be ground down just a hair..nothing strucurally compromising but thats the only way to get chain-hub clearance. but yeah..14/38 would be the hot ticket setup...if you have the power to pull through 6th after you do it.
