Default yz 490 blaster

No A yz 490 engine will not bolt right in but its not hard to make it work. all the motor mounts on the blaster frame need to be removed and new ones welded in place the swing arm needs to be changed where it bolts to the motor and frame. but the gas tank and fenders all fit very well. the boot to the air box will need to changed to adapt to the larger carb. The kick starter will also need to be reworked also. I already have completed the project twice. the last one while I was in the Marine Corps and I do have some pics of it on myspace @ myspace.com/mxnutts

yea you have to change the bottom and front motor mounts and make new ones. and the swingarm you have to cut a little bit for it to fit the motor. not to hard when you take your time and do it right.

heres some pics of my brother's wr500 powered blaster (wr500 is pretty much a newer model yz490). at the moment we're waiting on a drag pipe from ftz, should be here any day now
and you can kinda get a idea of the motor mounts in the frame in that 2nd pic

well lighter....HP to LB ratio is what wins races. Just because a blaster is aircooled doesnt mean much. Sure the LT's will run cooler but they have the extra weight. I know the blaster will be way lighter than a Zilla and i think it would be a damn good race. and 10cc's.....isnt alot of power gain. a .080 blaster isnt putting out a huge differance in HP compared to a STD bored one.

yea but the blaster is a much lighter frame then the zilla is so u put a motor thats about the same size as the zilla and it should be about the same if not faster

thanks, yea we took our time to try and do everything right and make it look good with out hacking up the frame, like ive seen so many of these yz490 blasters, where they just cut the frame to make the pipe fit in.

our pipe should be here any day, I hope it makes it run right. cause since its been built and rideable, the thing has just ran like crap. couldnt even keep up with a stock 400ex. the motor would cut out and sputter real bad and wouldnt even get into the powerband, but it has gobs of torque
