Default new to the forums - vittos 240 kit question.

im new to the forums here, but i was trying to find information on vittos 240 kit. What kind of power increase did you guys notice with it? I rode today with a kid who had a artic cat (he said it was a 400 4 stroke) im was shocked that my blaster could keep up with him really good, in the tight trails i whooped his ass, on the straights he was barely pulling away - thats unexceptable lol =) in anycase ill list my mods. and just tell me what i can do to get just a little more out of the blaster. and i love blasters so dont bother telling me i should get a bigger quad, yeah that would be easyier, but the easy road sucks.

2006 Special Edition blaster.
trenga racing pro-style nerfs,
motion pro twist throttle (i love it),
boyseen reed cage,
toomey racing B-1 exhaust,
ASR +3 swing arms,
ASR braded brake lines,
banshee front shocks,
250R rear shock.
Holeshot XTC rears,
i run 93 octane, would higher octane make a diffrence?
thanks for your time,
~jesse

You won't find too many Blaster bashers here, we all pretty much like em. If you're referring to the bolt on kit, it's a real nice add-on. A huge difference with more grunt and a hell of a lot more power. It'll have you competing with 250R's as you already have a very decent start with your current mods and add-ons. If you're referring to the sleeve and piston kit, all that does is add some decent grunt/low-end power. The difference is in the porting done to the bolt-on kit.

Welcome to the site.

i would need to get a 30mm carb for that vitos 240 kit (not the sleeve) what jetting would u recommend? i ride around 500 to 3000 feet usually 90% of the time around 3k. thanks for your time. In anycase since the motor is still brand new, with like maybe 25 hours on it, ill just wait till it needs to be rebuilt before i go throwing that crab on it ya know?

The simplist solution to jetting for a Vito's kit is buying the Vito's jet kit. About $30 and all the hassle is removed in figuring out what to use.

The 240 kit is a good way to go, but for cheaper, you can do what I did. I got a Hot Rods +4mm stoker crank. The cases had to get trenched and I got that done for about $100, the crank was $220 shipped to my door. The head was cut a little bit so the piston would go up into the head, no spacer plate. All ports are fully opened and fully closed. Also I removed the counter balancer....its amazing how much nuts that thing has now. I could honestly say it would be pretty close if not ahead of a 240 kit..... Don't quote me on this though, because I havn't raced a 240 blaster yet....this spring I'll be able to tell you what this thing beats and what blows me away....I can guarantee you that the only thing blowing me away by a landslide is a banshee....

The Vito's 240 kit is the most complete setup and improvement you can get for the money. For less than $600 it's a pretty good setup and can be thrown together in a little over an hour.

You will certainly notice a performance gain... very grunty and pulls a lot harder over the entire RPM range. It's not like a full-on 240 national port job from Trenga or some other shop... but for half the money it's damn close.

I thought CT had the best 240 kit for themoney. Because CT's came with a CR250 intake port, CR250 reeds and all that other stuff....is that why its closer to a grand? lol

But I guess vito's 12 port design is pretty damn good....thats where you get the difference between just the 240 sleeve and the actual 240 cylinder....

if i had the 240 kit from vitos on my blaster, would it beable to keep up with the artic cat DVX 400 ? i think the price of vitos is borderline rediculusly low, and as long as it adds power, im hoping say over 35? i think my quad with the tommey B-1 on it is around 26-27ish... what would u guess the vitos 240 kit hp would be?

The cylinder may have porting differences, but without the aluminum jug matching how could you possibly gain? Adjusting the port sizes and timing on a sleeve before installing it is rather useless if the jug doesnt match up. Then add the cost of porting, why would you want to buy just a sleeve kit? Ends up costing close to the complete kit anyway. I never really understood the reason behind offering the 240 sleeve kit, maybe it's just a money ploy.

I can't remember where, but I saw an intake that allowed the use of the CR125 reedcage without modding the jug. Kind of like a Volkswagon to chevy wheel adaptor, ya know. I think it was like $100
