| Depends on what type of riding you do, personally I dont have a skid plate but a little extra protection never hurts. |

| I ride the mountains and it absolutely HAS to be there. Too easy to damage the disc or chain and sprockets. |

| it is lovely on the sand dunes... you feel that you are skiing when it is there

| I ride mostly trails and I only rock the stock swingarm skid plate. I'd only get one if you ride in very rocky terrain. If not, then they just are extra weight.

| i use use one do to the fact it you get in some rutted muddy trails with the rear skid on you'll bottom out pretty easy, but with it off you will cut right though |

| I would suggest chassis and swing arm skids. I'd much rather get hung up a little in mud and ruts (if you know how to ride that won't be a problem though) instead of smashing the sprocket, bearing carrier, or brake disc. Also... be careful on ebay for cheap steel skid plates. I ordered one just once to see what the quality is like... well they bend up like paper and I had to drill the mounting holes out myself... theirs were at least a half inch off. Stick with name brand aluminum skids... you'll get what you pay for.

| well what i meant was that some skid plates come with a hole drilled and some don't. That would be another option to the situation, I dind't think about that...
