is there a way to time without buying a key or plate if so..how do i go along doing this

yeah, you have to pull off the magneto cover and there's something you have to move ahead like 2 or 3 mm's and this advances the timing by 4 degrees. Somebody on here should know what you move ahead...I'm kinda retarded in that area...all I know is the guy did it to my quad...
