I didn't read through all the posts, but will this be your first quad? Being a tiny guy you will surely fit a Blaster. I'm a small guy too (5'7" 160lbs) and I fit one fine, but I do feel claustrophobic on one. The question is if you'll be happy with a Blaster for a while, which I think you will once you put a pipe on it. Whatever you do, buy the best shape Blaster that you can afford. I prefer to buy used quads in stock condition because that usually indicates how a Blaster was used. The more highly modified the more likely it will be ridden very hard and/or beat to death.

yes 91LT250R , this will be my first quad, which is why i'm trying to get something small, cheap, & easy. i've looked at alot of 400ex's, but they all had problems, which is why people were selling them i guess. the one I looked at last night ( a 2000 ) was piped, jetted, & K&N'd. Can get it for $1300, but the jury is still out on that one, as it kept conking out. Found a 2005 last night & the guy said around $2300, bone stock, 12 hours ridden, with paddles. A good deal but probably wont sell at that price, so i'm gonna watch that & see whats up.

thanx
chap

That's cool man, I appreciate it. No need for arguments & stuff, this is all matter of opinion. First quad, trying to save money, love to work on things, we'll see how it goes. It all comes down to the all mighty buck & the right deal. I'll probably only get to go 6 times a year max, so I want something fun to kill & beat up.

Thanx,
Chap

well i would recommend a tecate like i do to everyone else looking for a good bike, but i wouldnt recomend it for a beginner, when i got mine i had only ridden like 5 different wheelers before it and rode for what 1-2 years, and i still almost caught a tree first going accross my yard with it

to help settle an dispute earlier, where i race they drag a piped-banshee against 400ex's. it might have been a drudge match but i know the shee lost. the 400's only run 63mph there. My when my blaster only had a pipe and filter on it it ran 54-58 constantly. So figure that just a good port job with the pipe will get you up to their times. lighten the flywheel, bigger carb, 240 kit w/good port job and you'll be smoking them two. i have never lined up against a shee but on paper a blaster could easily take one if everythings right on it.
