I purchased this 85' ATC250R in October of 2007 for $500.00!! I must have been the 1st to see it on Craigslist?
In Feb. 2008 is when I got my silver/gray plastics. And that's when I decided to rebuild it. Silver and black.
I told my fiance Lisa that everyone would think I was a Raiders fan....She said you ought to call it Dune Raider........so that's where I got the name.
I took my time did a lot of little detail things including removing casting lines and factory slag balls on and around welds before powder coating.
I'm not big on polishing and bling (even though it has a little).
I like a low maintenace great running machine!!
I had it finished it the first week of June 2008 just before the Trike Rampage at Winchester Bay.
I was proud to have it selected as July trike of the month on 3wheeler.org
I rode it hard for a week on the last ride before loading up I blew my inner o-ring and scored the cylinder and piston realy bad.
So it came off and went to LA Sleeve for a bore and a piston when I got it back it went to Dave Moore for cylinder porting and piston work.
Since then I've got heat cycles, and about two hours worth of break-in rides. With new PWR radiators and X-33 axle.
It's by no means the fastest 250R........But it's a great all around duner and it is fairly quick.
