With an all aluminum frame, A arms and swingarm, plus several revolutionary designs, it was the lightest 450 --- until the KTM came along.
With a lightweight internal dry sump engine, lightweight shocks, chromoly chassis components and minimal use of fasteners, it comes in at 367 pounds (ready to ride and with a gallon of gas) which is 3 pounds lighter that the Can-am, as measured on our Intercomp scales. The next closest contender is the yamaha, at 377. The wide suzuki, at 413 pounds, is the heaviest in class"
