Default Seized CARB

i have kehien carb i got from a friend and its seized or stuck closed. what would cause that? what would be best way to break it loose?

Its either stuck from old fuel or worse it got water in it. My guess is that it's just gummed up from old fuel. Just get some carb cleaner from an auto parts store and spray it really good and let it soak. Keep doing this until it frees up. Once it's free you'll have to take the whole carb apart to clean it good and clear all the passages.

dont know if this will help but i had the same problem with a carb on a kx80 i bought that was sittin in someones backyard out in the elements too long with no fuel tank or pipe for a few years, it was pretty bad (had the same problem with the top end but thats another story) but i used chem dip and soaked it for a week i was able to work the slide free and it ate up all the rust and oxidation that was on it, more time + elbo grease some spray carb cleaner and a air nozzle some new jets gasket and t cable and it was good as new

you could put it in acetone cleaner.. if its old fuel it wil clean that out.... i would soak it in gas or something....
