Default Un-Installed tors.... Now What??

hey fela's.... long time no post.... I recently purchased a tors removal kit... i followed the instructions and installed it.... i think i might have ran into a bit of a problem with the protruding angled shaft, in witch you tap the slid screw hole.... how much were you supposeed to sand off of this? my instructions said flat, but my carbs barely open 1/16" of an inch on either side...

1) how far should the slides screw be able to adjust the slide?

2) do i just kick it over. see if she starts, then move the screws in a little, and try againg? is it that easy?

Thanks for the help in advance.... and special thanks to climbany, for finding me a "pretty blue anodized tors removal kit with stainles lines".... it looks beautifull!

I didn't like the sanding down part, first time I used a file to make it even.
Last time I actually cut a 1/4 inch before the tap. If you don't remove enough then the idle screw won't reach far enough under the slide.
I would say you need the whole bullet head to show inside to get the most tunning out of it!

ok, thanks.... looks like iv got another 1/8 of an inch to sand off.... i was being shy cause i didnt want to mess them up.... i barely hit it with the file tiol it was perfectly flat....

when i adjust it? what do i do? is there a standard turn for the idle screw? or do i just move it around til it idles were i want it? how will i get bothe carbs to idle evenly?

You need a carb sync tool to set both carbs. I've been eyeballing it...
I just raise the slides to where the idle is good and tighten those locknuts.
Hit the trottle and watch those slides go up and down evenly.

but how do i know where they belong? iv never looked inside a shee carb? i dont know how high the slide should sit in the chamber? maybe just pull them on and off? if i knew how big the gap should be, then couldnt i adjust them fbefore instalation, then install them and go?
