Default 83 kdx carburetor problems

when I open the petcock the fuel almost immediately comes out the hose by the floats on carb. What does this mean? Bike has spark but will not kick over. It is putting gas into the cylinder, even tried starting fluid, compression starting but nothing. Any advice. thanks

the leaking gas means that the float is stuck. try tapping on the float bowl with the handle of a screwdriver and see if it stops, even just momentarily. If the fuel flow stops, pull the carb off and take it apart and clean it out. As for the no start problem, Are you positive your getting fuel into the engine and that you have spark? If so, Try checking the compression on it. Have you ever replaced the top end on it? ANyways, test the compression, if you've got anything less than say, 100 PSI your in need of a top end. Optimally you should have more than that, but it should run with 100 PSI.
