Default Jet size

I have a size 280 jet in my cr and on the needle jet i have the clip all the way leaned out because its running rich. What size should i get to put the clip in the middle of the needle so its running right?

Just put the clip 2 up from the bottom then just jet it according to the plug color and how it runs.

Well the weather changed. I also put a new air filter in, new reeds, and a port and polish.

where is it running rich at on the throttle/rpm ? take a close good visibale pic of your plug after a good run on your bike . that will tell us alot more . do the choke trick to ,it never lies

Its not running rich now, it runs good. But thats with it leaned all the way out. So i just wanna get a jet where i can put the clip in the middle of the needle and have it run the same as now.

if its not cutting out in the midrange and plug looks good,then i wouldnt change a damn thing. if you were too lean on the needle, it would hesitate alot in the midrange and be very noticable to you something is wrong ,your probably closer to perfect air/fuel ratio than you may think!( if it aint broke dont fix it) your bike just happens to run best with your current needle clip position thats all ,not all carbs need to be in the middle by any means ,in fact most modded bikes ive seen arent clipped in the middle setting
