Default Carb and Jet Help

95 Banshee, head milled (unknown how much),moderately aggressive porting, bored .020, v-force 3's,35mm Keihin Alcohol carbs, Shearer pipes, lightened flywheel.

Seemed to be running pretty fat in the desert in Phoenix (1700 feet elevation or so). As expected, took it to the Cinders at 7000 feet and it ran like a pig. Went to change the jest and was surprised to find 158's (surprised because they have been drilled and have a jet opening approximately the size of a 185.

Dropped to 155 mains and it seemed to run a little better, but still couldnt manage the big hill when stock bikes with toomey t-5 only were going up. Im a bigger rider, but frankly, with these mods.....i had an 01 that made this hill with nothing but t5's and a .020 bore.

1. Any idea based on mods and elevation what a ballpark jet size should be for the desert (1700 feet)?
2. Because these are converted alcohol carbs and the mains that were in it were found to be drilled (why would anyone drill a jet when they could just install a 185 or whatever), i dont know if anything else on the carbds has been modified. Should i replace them? With what based on the mods?

Appreciate any info .

thanks

MJ

i know if it were me what id do ,id sell them on ebay and get myself some 33 pwks and run gas i n them . alky carbs require a bigger carb size and much bigger jetting to keep a steady flow of fuel into the cylinder . seeing how dual 35 pwks are too big for your setup on gas IMO id get some 33 pwks which will be just right for you and aleviate al l these jetting headaches. to me it isnt worth the aggrevation and headache unless your doing organized pro racing .
